I have been interested in exploring the formal boundaries of what a picture is, does, and suggests as simulacra of a person, namely, me. It is an outrageous world we live in, and the frenzied madness involved with the continuance of the ego is the obvious subject of my artwork, and the strength and courage involved in there are beautiful, as well/
Often, forms and narrative emerge from the laborious elaboration processes I invest onto various surfaces. These are purely arbitrary, in that, they are not didactic. They confuse and unsettle me, or calm and captivate, in a word, effect, me as independent agents would. They come through me, for all intents and purposes, not from me. Symbols, subjects, patterns, and naturalistic forms, are interrupted, obfuscated, or blatantly embodied as their cliched or mediated "types" in order to subvert and interrogate "given" meanings of an image. I have been taking apart the world.

In this way, I hope that viewer engagement with this work creates an area of potentiality and immediate experience, a personal and interior space to be entered into and enjoyed as a fantastic meditation on the nature of being, offered as impetus and opportunity of experience and growth, not as prescription to any thought or feeling, simply a place offered to invest your own self-ness into...
