This piece is based on a view from the Coast Starlight Amtrack train, where it passes through Point Conception and the Hollister & Bixby Ranches, looking inland up the caƱon , from one of the best right-hand point break waves in California (on its' day).
It is a remote, wild, desolate and beautiful place, filled with rattlesnakes and coyote, cattle and sagebrush, cowboys, billionaires, hawks and and surfers on a pilgrimage.
