Spring of 2010 saw late, late rains in Northern California. The flowers liked it. These meditative drawings and mixed media pieces were created with the aim of capturing the subtly surreal atmosphere of my neighborhood in Oakand's Jingletown arts district. I wanted these works to reflect the odd visual combination of gray, gritty urban structures and the beautiful flowers, moments and visions that those structures house.
