There is a stiffness in the figures drawn from photographs, rather than from life, it is true. Recorded, translated, objectified, exploited for art, for affect, and why not? What is the idea of the natural, after all, but a cover story? A reactionary red-herring...the question is not what, but how...we are so quick to separate ideas from each other, but they secretly steal away and make love, at any rate.
